So for this update I thought I would let the books speak for themselves. I packed up and went to the comic shop to get some casual, ford commercial style first impressions. 

This video is one shot, no cuts, not script, just me,  my new friend, some minis, and the book!

PS I'm not sure where we will be at Gencon yet, but I promise to let everyone know. watch for an update Thursday or Friday morning when I figure out where we will post up!

The map books are starting to come off the machines as finished products. Im paying $300 to get 2 here for gen con next next weekend. overnight from china is a bit ridiculous. one night in Bangkok and the worlds your oyster. more like one night in Bangkok and you save 200 dollars.

here is a pic of the production book, just all printed solid pink, laying flat.

this is the machine that makes the book covers. And at the end of the video you can see the first finished book fresh off the press. Also I hope some of you are surprised at the shear size.

Hello everyone! happy July! I can't believe this month is almost over!

The factory will be done with the books in 25 days. August 12th. Then they will get on the boat and begin shipping.

woohoo!

We ran into a little issue with the spell stickers not being vibrant enough, we fixed it by upping the saturation on the white layer behind the stickers. 

getting the spells to have the right transparency was important in order to add that magic feeling. 

the first run looked like the images below. 

 here is what we did to fix it with the first try on the left and the final working stickers on the right.

I'm so excited to get you all these books and stickers and the time is nearly at hand!

For reading this far into the update I have some free maps to share with only you.

Hey everyone. Im still working with the factory on exact dates. They are a big factory so they are moving stuff around for me to get logistics lined up and free up some space in their shipping area. in the meantime I have more cool things to show you all.

The covers are done and are being applied to all 22000 books. 

The material is more a fabric and less a paper. it is the soft touch faux leather material. it is amazing

We finished all the stickers, here is what the proof looked like. We had to print a layer of white under all the ink so that it would show up crisper and not be totally transparent. if you look at some of the white areas (shown in blue) some stickers won't have white underneath and that is because some stickers I felt would be better having some transparency to them.

The back and forth went like this, 

Factoy: you forgot to put some white behind some of the stickers in your file.

me: I did that on purpose

factory: no here is a picture of what we mean.

me: yeah I know its meant to be this way

factory: ok

Hey everyone! Im still working closely with the factory to give us a good schedule of events with everything leading up to the books on your table. Ill get the books done, you get your groups together!

some fun numbers. 

we have printed and glued over 1,020,000 pages to fulfill this kickstarter! Folding 3 books at a time we have ran the machine in the video just over 340,000 times! 

We just finished folding all the pages and are almost done laminating! The factory is working overtime and logistics is ready to go as well as soon as I get exact dates from the factory during the 4th of July break!
